ondes Martenot, accordion, live electronics
The idea behind this piece was to compose a spectral chaconne whose temporality would be stretched to the limit.
The piece is born of a single sound, like a thin wire, which through a process of accumulation condenses into chords, then into phrases. This process runs through each of the four sections that make up the piece, resulting in a progressive densifying and increasing heaviness of the sound material, leading to a slow and inexorable fall from high to low frequencies, from lightness to collapse. Each section is composed as a reiteration of this gesture, and plays on techniques of spectral transformation to exacerbate the dramatic action of repetition. The structure ends with the dissolution and collapse of process during its fourth repetition.
