notturno (2026)

Flute, soprano saxophone, clarinet in A, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, percussions [1 player: wind chimes, crotales, 4 timpani], 2 violins, viola, cello, double bass ~ 10 min.

A musical meditation on night-time. Here, the sounds are at once mysterious and ambiguous. Time appears at once smooth, fragmented, and suspended. The form of this work is not predetermined, but rather emergent from the nature of the material itself, suggested to imagination by an attentive listening of the sounds, their resonances and combinations. The resulting process is characterized by a feeling of weightlessness and suspension that is, however, never fully resolved.
