immagine opaca all’orizzonte scintillante (2025)

bass flute, cello, piano

Of the many epithets Homer uses in the Odyssey, the most fascinating are undoubtedly those referring to the colour of the sea. Among them, one in particular has always seemed particularly interesting to me: the sea is often described as red, purple, or the colour of wine. Those who, like the composer, were born or have lived for a long time near this same sea know well the deep connection that exists between the sea, life and death. This piece was born as a musical commentary on the innumerable, ever-changing colours of the sea.
